Just when we were about at our limit with Photoshop-like applications (and when we thought we couldn’t possibly find one more way to waste time on the Internet), developer Ola Sevandersson and a Swedish team created Pixlr, the newest and most advanced way for “amateurs” to edit photos. It’s easy, fun, low-maintenance, and most of all, quick.
Unlike many other programs for editing photos, Pixlr does not require any sort of login ID. All you have to do is type in the web address, open a file, and edit away. Pixlr also allows you to open photos using their URLs, and Mozilla Firefox users can download a plugin which opens up Pixlr with a single right click. By the way, it takes literally three seconds for the photos to load. What’s not to love?
Although Pixlr’s most important functions involve fixing mess-ups in photographs (red eyes, blurring, etc.), it is also a fun tool for messing around with your personal photos. Need a new Facebook profile picture? Apply effects like water swirl and kaleidoscope (seen below) to your standard photo and you may find just what you’re looking for.
A whole wide world of editing, perfecting and goofing around is at your hands with the click of your mouse. Check out Pixlr, and I promise, you will not be sorry.
Cascaders, this is an easy tool for editing and resizing images before uploading them to Cascade!
